Stainless Steel Appliances
Do you love them or hate them?? I love the look of them, but are they a pain in the butt to keep clean? I think I'd go crazy if there were fingerprints all over. The house that we really like is without a refrigerator. The stove and dishwasher are both black. Do we go ahead and purchase a stainless steel fridge with the plan to later replace the stove and dishwasher to stainless steel or we do purchase a black refrigerator and keep everything black?

I have all stainless and 3 kids and I don't have any issues with fingerprints. Some stainless cleaners are better than others, too. I'd say go for stainless if that's what you want in the long run. It will coordinate fine with the existing black appliances.
ReplyDeleteI love stainless...and frankly, I find all of my appliances a big pain to keep smudge or dirt free, whether they be white or black or stainless steel. If you like the look, go for it!
ReplyDeleteWhen we remodeled our kitchen 2 years ago we went with stainless. I have 3 boys and I can tell you that there is a fair amount of fingerprints to clean at all times. And you need special cleaner and a lot of elbow grease. That being said, there are a ton of new stainless steal appliances that have a no fingerprint guarantee. It is like brushed stainless or something.
ReplyDeleteEven so, now that we are redoing another home we are planning on putting in stainless again. It just looks so nice (when it is clean). And if you get a stainless fridge the sides are usually black, so it will go with your stove and dishwasher without having to replace those anytime soon.
Good luck!
i like both black and stainless. i've heard that they make a new stainless version that is smudge-proof.
